Jim Lyons – Senior Partner
Jim is beginning his 40th year in the fundraising field. He has taught seminars for over 400 institutions and their staff and boards. Jim has worked on an extended basis with over 150 non-profit clients. During that time, his clients have achieved over $800 million in fundraising goals. Jim has spoken at numerous professional meetings with an emphasis on board recruitment, motivation and strategic planning. He also brings to his clients many years of financial and organizational management experience. He is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Jim is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado.
Patti Lyons – Executive Partner
Patti was Foundation Director for the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia, for five years through two successful capital campaigns. For the last 30 years, she has consulted in non-profit fundraising, initially as Vice President of Lyons Associates in Aspen, Colorado, from 1988 until 1997, then as a founding partner of the expanded corporation, Pride Philanthropy, in 1997. Her emphases include board engagement and motivation, strategic planning, feasibility and development assessments, capital campaigns, major gift strategies for development staff and volunteers, planned gifts, and interim executive director roles. Patti has been a motivational speaker for numerous non-profit boards. Her organizational and strategic skills and an array of fundraising experiences have brought a high level of financial success to nonprofit clients for over three decades. Patti is a long time member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
Joni King – Senior Vice President
Joni has over 36 years experience in fundraising for both healthcare and senior care. Formerly, she served as Director of Major Gifts and Annual Giving for Asbury Foundation in Gaithersburg, MD, Director of Community Relations for Frederick Memorial Healthcare System in Frederick, Maryland, and Director of Community Resources for Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan. Joni brings knowledge and success in capital campaigns, major gifts, feasibility studies and development audits. She has shown her commitment to her own community as a board member for Shared Vision Public Art and the American Heart Association, a charter member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and a volunteer for Hospice of Frederick County.
Larry Warkoczeski – Vice President
Larry Warkoczeski is a national consultant and generosity storyteller who recently served as Vice President of the Foundation for St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky. Larry’s professional healthcare career includes senior executive positions in the areas of philanthropy, research and development, strategic planning, marketing and public relations. He has also served as Legal Counsel and Marketing Executive for a national food distributor, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of a healthcare mobile technology firm. Additionally, Mr. Warkoczeski served as a full-time faculty member in the business school of a Midwestern university. He earned a juris doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Michigan. Mr. Warkoczeski is co-author of two nonfiction titles: New Roles for Leaders: A Step-by-Step Guide to Competitive Advantage and Taming the Storm: The Art of Synergy. He is also co-author of a soon-to-be-published non-fiction book on philanthropy stewardship and storytelling. He is a member of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP); a Kaiser Institute Fellow; a former Catholic Charities Advisory Board Member; a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International; a founder of the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation Affiliate, Northeast Tennessee; and a founder of the Ronald McDonald House, Johnson City, Tennessee.
Trish Williams – Director of Operations
Trish Williams has over 25 years’ experience in administrative, computer and customer support. She has trained countless users on Microsoft Office products and computer basics including community outreach training for seniors. She holds a CompTIA A+ certification as well as a strong background in computer networking and Cisco routers and products. For five years, Trish served as Director of Corporate Operations with Pride Philanthropy’s predecessor, Lyons Associates, in Aspen, Colorado, with responsibilities of computer systems, software, company website, corporate mailings, meetings and seminars. Trish provides an increased level of computer and client support for the continuing expansion of the online Pride Resource Center and Pride Development Institute of educational programming. She is a graduate of New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida.
Jake Lyons – Director of Client Services
As a Lyons fourth generation fundraiser, Jake has worked with Pride Philanthropy for seven years. He manages fund development assessments, audits and feasibility studies for clients as well as subject matter and agendas for the Pride Development Institute, the firm’s educational series that includes year-round seminars, workshops and academy programs. Jake helps PRIDE stay on the cutting edge of communication techniques and technology. He is the founder and Executive Director of Equinox Percussion, a nonprofit world class competitive drum corps. Previously, Jake served four years as an instructor in the music department at the University of Georgia in Athens. He has a degree in Communications from the University of Georgia and is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
