$23 Million for a Cancer Center

Frederick Health

Profile

Name Frederick Health
Sector Healthcare: Hospital
Location Frederick, MD

Situation & Goals

Frederick Health wanted to expand their cancer services and the cost of the building and equipment was $20 Million. They needed to raise all of it to make the project happen, and did!

Strategy

  • Utilized existing development council

  • Established goal based on project size

  • Identified, cultivated, and solicited donor prospects all locally

  • All inclusive of annual giving program, business support, and major giving

  • Campaign management and philanthropy support services

Results

  • Exceeded $20M goal with a total of $23 Million dollars in four years

  • Construction complete, facility currently servicing the entire region

Frederick Health adopted the PRIDE Philanthropy model of giving clubs back in 1989. Since then, our small development team working alongside Development Council volunteers, has raised nearly $100 million in charitable support from our six giving clubs. The hospital’s fundraising model and success is the envy of other local nonprofits. In addition to providing us the foundation for our fundraising success, I appreciate PRIDE’s proactive guidance as to how we can continually grow and modify our program to meet the changing wishes and expectations of an ever-increasing diverse donor and prospect base. I can’t imagine doing this work without them.
