"My experience with Pride's Prospect Research has been extremely helpful to identify previous gifts and interests of potential donors. We often "know of" our prospects, but little else. This research helps us to connect the dots in many instances. I highly recommend this service."

SERVICES > Strategic Planning

Objective: Assessing the current environment, evaluating the capacity of the organization, determining future needs and specific strategies and activities is becoming more imperative for all non-profits. A specific process of evaluation and determination of institutional direction leads to a plan that could include organizational structure, personnel, and policies and procedures, timeline of activities and tools for evaluation of progress. These elements together formulate an integrated plan that serves as an ongoing guide for the organization.

Elements of the Service

  • Gathering internal information including current policies and procedures, financial and organizational objectives, scheduled activities and communication methods
  • Interview individuals from within the organization, as well as community leaders who have a significant relationship with the organization. These interviews are conducted in individual as well as focus group sessions with the objective of reaching 40-50 key people
  • A compilation of the total body of information into a comprehensive plan that guides the organization through internal structuring and presents the need for community charitable support
  • An objective assessment of the organization in its current position
  • Determination of staff and volunteer roles
  • A final document that can be adjusted over time as circumstances and the environment changes. Most plans span a two to three year timeframe

Expected Outcome

A strategic plan will be in place as a tool to determine ongoing priorities and activities. By focusing on these areas that yield the greatest return on the investment of resources, both human and financial, the organization can make informed and effective decisions as it looks to meet future needs. Specific calendars, deadlines and benchmarks are established to evaluate progress. In fundraising, an effective and structured internal strategic progress ultimately leads to increased gift income utilizing organizational resources in their most efficient way.
