SERVICES > Planned Giving

Objective: Focuses the efforts of a client on specific processes to identify, cultivate and solicit planned gifts to the continuing and ever increasing financial benefit of the client institution.

Elements of the Service

  • Evaluation of past and current efforts in planned giving
  • An initial written report and recommendations on a specific course of action which includes:
    • Recruiting and/or education of a planned gifts committee
    • Planned gifts publication templates that can be personalized for a given client institution for distribution to its priority constituents (Publications may include seminar invitations, brochures, newsletters, planned gifts donor club invitation and pledge card as well as direct mail)
    • Cultivation plan to initiate and continue contact with top prospects
  • Identification of key planned gifts prospective donors
  • Work with foundation staff, prospective donors and their advisors to identify the best strategies and vehicles to meet the needs of the donors as well as provide support to the hospital
  • Provide an ongoing evaluation and direction to maintain focus on the planned gifts process as it fits into a comprehensive fund development program. This would involve quarterly visits with staff, planned gifts committee and prospective donors and their advisors as necessary

Expected Outcome

This process is designed to increase the number of planned gift expectancies and level of cash as those expectancies mature. Focusing on an actual process of asking for the planned gift will generate results. Qualifying the prospects with both the capacity and inclination to make this type of gift is the first step in a process that involves the institution, the prospective donor and his or her advisors.
