In keeping with our ongoing effort to constantly improve services and add value for our clients, Pride Philanthropy has created the Council of Advisors. This panel of development professionals offers input, review, and oversight to our consultancy. Each has achieved success in their chosen profession, and has enjoyed a long relationship with the firm.
Ethel Cullinan, PhD, FAHP, FACHE, CHE
President and CEO of Medcen Community Health Foundation in Macon, Georgia, Dr. Cullinan holds FAHP, FACHE and CASP certifications. She considers her biggest accomplishment to be engaging the Macon community in developing a sense of ownership of the hospital and making major investments in the health care system. Medcen has raised over $50 million in five successfully completed campaigns since Ethel joined the organization in 1990.
Stan Maher, CFRE
Stan has been the Executive Director of East Jefferson General Hospital Foundation, in Metairie, LA, since 1991. Under his guidance the Foundation has facilitated expansion of buildings and programs, including a capital campaign, for a state-of-the-art Wellness Center, advanced cancer diagnostic and treatment equipment, and regional community health initiatives. Stan is a graduate of University of GA and has served as a CFRE proctor and mentor, encouraging others to enhance their professional development. Stan was recognized as the 2007 Fundraising Professional of the Year for the Greater New Orleans Area Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Helene Schwartz
Helene has worked at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia since 1993 as Director of the Athens Regional Foundation. She has served two terms as President of Georgia Association for Development Professionals of the Georgia Hospital Association and continues to serve on the board. Helene has also been active in PTA’s (Past President), American Heart Association (Past President), Foundation for Excellence in Public Education, Women in Business Council of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Clarke County Mentor program, Youth Leadership Athens Steering Committee, and Congregation Children of Israel (Past President), East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross, Vice President of the Athens Jewish Film Festival. Helene graduated from University of Georgia with a B.S. Ed. In Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling.
Ruth Stephens-Collins
As immediate past President of the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Foundation in Rochester, Michigan, Ruth has more than 20 years experience in healthcare philanthropy, community relations and event planning. The Foundation is currently preparing for a capital campaign of more than $100 million dollars for a major building project. Her educational background in Business Administration is an asset to her personal "friendraising and fundraising" philosophy.
Elizabeth Vickers
Director of the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation in Valdosta, Georgia, Ms. Vickers graduated from Valdosta State University with a BFA in Organizational Communications. Her fundraising strengths include recognition event planning, employee campaigns, and cultivating prospective donors. Elizabeth has been with SGMC for eight years and has surpassed goal on two subsequent campaigns raising $2.3 million and $3.6 million respectively.
